The biggest upgrades are measurable: battery capacity increases by 23%, the main camera moves from 50MP to 200MP, and maximum gaming refresh rate rises from 165Hz to 185Hz.

The OnePlus 15 has a 7,300mAh battery. The OnePlus 16 increases typical capacity to 9,000mAh.

OnePlus 15 supports up to 120W wired charging in some markets, so the OnePlus 16 trades lower peak charging power for substantially higher capacity.
2nm Snapdragon
The leaked SoC is Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro with:

- 2+3+3 octa-core CPU
- Adreno 850 GPU
The OnePlus 15 uses Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and Adreno 840. The 2+3+3 configuration splits eight CPU cores into three performance groups. Actual performance gains will depend on clock speeds, cache, memory bandwidth and sustained power limits, which are not included in the leak.
185Hz gaming
The BOE X4 panel reportedly supports 165Hz globally and 185Hz in games.

OnePlus 16 reportedly uses three rear cameras:

- Periscope telephoto: 50MP, 1/1.95"
The OnePlus 15 uses a 50MP main camera, so the main sensor jumps from 50MP to 200MP.
The higher resolution provides more data for pixel binning, sensor cropping and computational zoom. The 1/1.4-inch sensor size is more relevant than the resolution alone because it affects total light collection.
