Huawei has launched the Mate XT 2 Ultimate Design, a new tri-fold flagship powered by the Kirin 9050 Pro processor.

The Mate XT 2 uses a tri-fold OLED display that expands to 10.2 inches and measures 6.5 inches in its folded smartphone configuration. The device is 3.5 mm thick when fully unfolded and 12.3 mm when folded.
Huawei says its second-generation hinge improves impact resistance by 90%, while the multilayer flexible display structure increases impact resistance by 200%. The phone carries IP58/IP59 dust and water resistance ratings.
The camera system includes a 50MP RYYB main sensor with a variable f/1.49–f/4.0 aperture, plus ultra-wide and telephoto cameras. Huawei also uses its third-generation Red Maple imaging system for improved color reproduction.
An optional Lingdun privacy display can restrict side viewing at the hardware level by switching between wide and narrow viewing angles.
The Mate XT 2 runs HarmonyOS 7 and supports up to three apps simultaneously on the unfolded 10.2-inch screen.
Kirin 9050 Pro and LogicFolding
The Kirin 9050 Pro is the first high-performance processor to use Huawei's LogicFolding technology.
Instead of arranging logic units only horizontally, LogicFolding stacks them in multiple layers within the chip. This shortens signal transmission paths between computing units, reducing latency and improving performance and energy efficiency.
Huawei says the Mate XT 2 delivers 42% higher overall performance than its predecessor. The Kirin 9050 Pro also adds hardware acceleration for real-time ray tracing.
LogicFolding could allow Huawei to increase computing density and performance without relying exclusively on smaller semiconductor manufacturing nodes.
Price
The Huawei Mate XT 2 starts at 19,999 yuan (about $2,980) in China. Higher configurations cost up to 24,999 yuan (about $3,725).
